Four years ago I didnt know what "offside' meant. I never thought football would change me or I would be one of those crazy mothers "coaching" from the sidelines. But watching my daughter, get up every morning, lace up, take on players twice her confidence and walk off the pitcher stronger and ready for the next play, something changed. This isnt just sports, it's identity being created. 

I have seen what football does - it teaches girls to TAKE space and not ask for it. To fall, get knocked down, get up and go at it again! It builds a fearlessness that no classrom could ever teach. 

Yet for every girl that plays, thousands dont. It's not just about facilities, resources and access. It's also the daring to think, to dream and to build! Hence my support to Kemp Foundation that is setting out to do that. My 10km run is my little contribution to the building of the future for girls' football.
